text.
Foreign
words
in
the
special
“foreign-word
directory”
in
the
back
of
Webster’s
11th
are
used
in
italic
type
(or
roman
if
surrounding
copy
is
italic).
All other foreign words must be italicized and should include a context or definition. If the word is used repeatedly in the same story, italicize it on first reference in the main text, the captions, and each sidebar.
On subsequent references, the word should run roman.
Use accents and symbols as indicated.
Unfamiliar or uncommon foreign terms should not be used if the meaning is not made clear within the
article’s text.
