Two new copy desk employees will start August 25.

Metta Cederdahl will be an assistant copy editor. Metta comes to us from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she has just earned her bachelor of journalism degree. Metta’s primary responsibilities will include serving as lead copy editor on several issues, editing Web copy, and working on second manuscript reads and final proofs. She’ll also serve as a backup to the freelance coordinator.

Erin Strecker will be our new freelance coordinator. She’s a sophomore at Drake University, where she’s majoring in magazine journalism. She was a writer and assistant editor of Drake Magazine in her freshman year and has also worked as a theater camp counselor and children’s bookseller.
