It’s my pleasure to announce that, effective July 27, Doug Kouma will take over as Managing Editor of Meredith Special Interest Media (SIM). Please join me in congratulating Doug on this well-deserved promotion to the position recently vacated by Kathleen Armentrout.

After a stint as a copy editor and page designer at The Des Moines Register, Doug joined SIM in 1999 as an Associate Copy Editor. He later served as Senior Copy Editor and took over as SIM Copy Chief in 2004. Since then, the SIM Copy Editing department has grown to incorporate all SIM online, magazine, and book content development. Doug has been instrumental in developing SIM’s Web processes and creating the new and highly efficient production database.

Doug is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism.
